Far from the glamorous Hollywood party scene for the launch of Helio, there is a small but powerful tech leader quietly celebrating its successful debut to the US market. No champagne, no celebrities. Forget goodie bags containing hip, shiny Helio Kickflips. But the atmosphere is festive enough at nTels.
As nTels CEO Jae Hee Shim puts it, “US Operators have said hello to nTels. They liked what they saw, and they keep coming for more.” According to Mr. Shim, several large US telecom operators have contacted the company for partnership opportunities.
nTels is the developer-provider of OSS (operational support system) for Helio. Since Helio targets trendy 20- and 30-somethings, advanced OSS that can handle diverse services and complicated pricing schemes was critical to Helio’s success. nTels was their choice for mediation, rating, and settlement systems, decision based on nTels’ showcase of successful partnership with major players in the Asian-Pacific market.
Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, nTels boasts quite a track record in the telecommunications billing industry. nTels billing solutions, including N-Mediator and N-Rater, have been recognized as most advanced and intelligent systems in South Korea, where wireless telecommunications technology go at least half a decade ahead of the rest of the world.
