NTELS Co., Ltd. (CEO Jae-Hee Shim) announced on November 4 that it has acquired a patent for distinguishing packets of terminals that are connected to tethering network and managing the tethering service.

With this technology, service providers are possible to detect terminals that use tethering network,create statistics of the traffic used by those terminals, and manage the mobile network to apply their policies efficiently.

NTELS said that the patented technology will be used not only to create diverse statistical analysis from mobile network, but also as base data for providing new tethering-related price plans and additional services.
