nTels has acquired the patent for platform and smart card that support multimedia service on October 26.

This patent realizes a platform, where multimedia services, that are independent from smart or feature phone, are possible only with CPU of smart card. It is a system that provides environment for not only decoding, but also displaying various Mime-type media.

nTels is planning to configure a smart card based multimedia service platform as ‘VoD Player + VoD Engine + Codecs’ through flexible API. nTels is going to apply this configuration to the system that allows various types of player screen.
